Netball

Netball in Newstead started in 2005 under the guidance of Miss Deepthi Alwis. The College Currently has six Netball teams (under 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19). The College obtained the service of a Professional Netball Coach in 2006. In 2006, the Under 12 Netball team of Newstead Girls’ College won the Milo Trophy Netball Tournament RunnersUp. They also won it in 2009.

By winning the All Island National School Runners Up Newstead players succeeded in elevating the college to a higher echelon.
